Juan Atkins deserves his place in history.
Born in Detroit, Michigan but raised in the more rural Belleville where he met fellow electronic pioneers Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson at High School (later to be known as the 'Belleville three').
Inspired by funk and soul as well as early electronic sounds by the likes of Kraftwerk, the following three tracks prove just how ahead of the game he was.
