One of the hottest developments coming out of the UK film business, is the news that director Andrew Haigh will soon be directing The Alexander McQueen biopic for producer Damien Jones and Pathe. The British Fashion Designer's spectacular rise and tragic fall would inhale a great cinematic adaptation. The Son of a taxi driver, MacQueen rose rapidly through the ranks from an apprentice on london's Saville row, his clients would eventually include Prince Charles and would later go on to design the wardrobe for David Bowie's 1996&1997 tours, which included the union jack worn by Bowie on his Earthgling album cover. He became head designer at Givenchy before launching his own. He was famous for his un conventional highly stylised fashion shows - openly gay, McQueens growing fame and fortune also spurn on am increase of drug use and many failed relationships. He committed suicide in 2010 nine days after his mother joyce had died of cancer.
